Pension Plan

  • Capital Pension Plan 6.05% employer contribution and 5.5% employee contribution.

Sick Leave, Short and Long Term Disability

  • Sick leave accumulated at 1¼ days per month

  • Short term disability bridges gap between sick leave use and long term disability
  • Eligible to apply for long term disability after 17 weeks
  • Short and Long Term Disability at 70% of regular monthly earnings
  • Premiums are shared at 50% / 50%
  • Long-Term Disability coverage terminates at age 65.

Basic Group Life Insurance

  • Premium on first $25,000 paid by employer, this amount included as taxable benefit, balance of premium paid by employee

  • Coverage is 3 times annual salary to a maximum of $1 million, proof of insurability is required for amounts of life insurance in excess of the no evidence maximum of $900,000.
  • Group Life Insurance terminates at age 71, however if an employee terminates employment prior to this age, he/she is eligible to apply for individual policy coverage within 31 days after last day worked.

Optional Group Life

  • Rates varies per age, sex, smoking/non-smoking, etc.

  • Optional Group Term Insurance is available in units of $10,000.  The maximum coverage is $500,000 per person.
  • Employee paid premiums
  • Coverage terminates at age 65.

Dental Insurance

  • Full -time Employees:  Preventative treatment 100%, routine   treatment 80%, major and orthodontic treatment 50%,  Maximum the plan will pay in any one calendar year is $1,500 for each insured family member. 

  • Part-time Employees: Preventative treatment 50%, routine treatment 40%, major and orthodontic treatment 25%,  Maximum the plan will pay in any one calendar year is $750 for each insured family member. 

  • This coverage terminates when the employee terminates employment.

  • 100% Employer paid premiums.

 Basic Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D)

  • Provides principal sum of $50,000 for full-time employees upon death or accident and $25,000 for eligible part-time employees where various accidents are a percentage of principal sum; additional repatriation, rehabilitation, occupational training and medical (hospital expense benefits).

  • AD&D eligibility for coverage up to age 70, however should an employee terminate employment prior to this age, he/she is eligible to apply for individual policy within 60 days after last day worked.
  • 100% Employer paid.

Optional AD&D

  • Available on an optional or voluntary basis to employees and their families.  Coverage (Principal Sum) may be purchased in increments of $10,000 from a minimum of $50,000 to a maximum of $250,000.

  • 100% Employee paid premiums.

Vision

Full-time Employees:

  • One time eye glass lenses charge within a 24 month period (maximum is unlimited).  Frames 100% to a maximum of $110 every 24 months OR Contact lenses 100% to maximum of $110 every 24 months OR Laser Eye Surgery to a maximum of $110 every 24 months.  Eye examinations (24 month period) is $75.  No deductible.

  • Employer / Employee shared premiums
  • Vision Insurance coverage terminates when the employee terminates employment.

Part-time Employees:

  • One time eye glass lenses charge within a 24 month period (maximum is unlimited).  Frames 100% to a maximum of $55 every 24 months OR Contact lenses 100% to maximum of $55 every 24 months OR Laser Eye Surgery to a maximum of $55 every 24 months.  Eye examinations (24 month period) is $37.50.  No deductible.

  • Employer / Employee shared premiums
  • Vision Insurance coverage terminates when the employee terminates employment.

Extended Health

  • 100% Employer paid.

  • Extended Health coverage terminates when the employee terminates employment.

Prescription Drugs - 100% coverage

  • all drugs in the Saskatchewan Prescription Drug Services Formulary

Practitioners

  • Full-time Employees: $400 ($200 part-time) per person per calendar year for services from osteopaths, chiropractors, podiatrists, naturopaths, acupuncture, physiotherapists*, psychologists*, speech therapists*, massage therapists* (*physician referral required).

Private Duty Nursing

  • $7,500 ($3500 part-time) per person per calendar year

Diabetic Supplies

  • $1,000 ($500 part-time) per person per calendar year

Ambulance Services

  • Unlimited road and air ambulance to nearest facility

Out-of-Province and Out-of-Country Emergency

  • Unlimited coverage for non-insured emergency services

Miscellaneous

  • semi-private hospital accommodation

  • $1,800 ($900 part-time) maximum for chronic/convalescent hospital services
  • out-patient provincially non-insured services and supplies
  • medical services and supplies prescribed by a physician including anaesthesia, oxygen, blood and blood products
  • $300 ($150 part-time) per person per calendar year for prescribed orthopaedic shoes and special foot appliances
  • reimbursement for the prescribed rental or purchase of a wheelchair, hospital bed or pre-approved motorized wheelchair
  • accidental dental care to natural teeth
  • laboratory and x-ray expenses
  • ostomy supplies
  • $200 ($100 part-time) lifetime maximum for hairpiece following chemotherapy
  • $500 ($250 part-time) maximum every 5 years for the purchase, repair and installation of prescribed hearing aids
